Changes & Updates in JEE Mains 2025 Syllabus

• There is no major change in the JEE Main 2025 syllabus for Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Only a few topics are added in Electromagnetism and Organic Chemistry.

What’s the Reason Behind the Removal of 75% Rule in JEE?

It all started in the year 2020 when the world came to a halt with the unprecedented situation caused by the pandemic. The academic year was not well for the students as they had to juggle online classes and broad examinations. In addition, NTA has also postponed the JEE exam several times and at last stated that the 75% rule will not be applicable for JEE 2020. 

The same case was repeated in the next two consecutive years, 2021 & 2022 when the academic session was operational in online mode. But when things resumed to normal and students started learning in offline mode the NTA again applied the 75% rule for the JEE exam in 2023 & 2024, which was objected to by some of the candidates.

It is assumed that the NTA will not remove the 75% rule as it sets the benchmark for the students to prove that they are capable of getting into prestigious engineering colleges in India. If the rule is demolished the number of applications for the JEE Mains will increase resulting in more competition for a fewer number of seats. Therefore, NTA will not be removing this rule to maintain the integrity and prestige of the most important exam JEE.

What Are the Eligibility Criteria for JEE Main & Advanced 2025?

Eligibility Criteria JEE Mains 2025

1. The student must have passed class 12th in 2023 or 2024 or is appearing for the 12th examination in 2025.
2. There is no age restriction. The students who passed class 12th in 2023 or 2024 or are appearing for the 12th examination in 2025.
3. The student can appear for the JEE Main three times in three consecutive years.
4. The main subjects in class 12th must be Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

Eligibility Criteria for JEE Advanced 2025

1. The top 2,50,000 candidates from the JEE Main 2025 are eligible for the JEE Advanced exam.
2. A candidate may attempt JEE (Advanced) no more than twice in two consecutive years.
3. Candidates who took the class 10+2 exam in 2024 or 2025 who have Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as obligatory subjects qualified for JEE Advanced.
4. Aspirants who took the class 10+2 test in 2023 or earlier are ineligible.
5. An applicant should not have been admitted to an IIT through JoSAA 2024, regardless of whether they remained in the program or accepted an IIT seat.

JEE Main 2025: Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for JEE Main 2025 students must meet the following eligibility criteria:

1. Passed class 12th in 2023, 2024 or appearing in 2025.
2. Should be in their final year of the 10+2 exam.
3. Candidates who have completed intermediate or two-year pre-university examinations administered by a recognized Board/University are eligible.
4. The National Defence Academy’s Joint Service Wing is eligible if they have finished a two-year course.
5. Candidates who have completed 10+2 at the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) with a minimum of five subjects are eligible.
6. A 3-year diploma holder is also eligible.
7. NIOS students preparing for the 10+2 exam should select their state for eligibility.

How to Fill The JEE Main 2025 Registration Form?

NTA will release the application form JEE Main 2025 on its official website in November 2024 The application process will involve registration, filling out the application form, uploading the documents, and payment of the application fee. Talent Hunt 2025: Exam Pattern & Marking Scheme

There will be 10 questions for each subject. The total number of questions will be 50 as the question paper will be divided into five sections: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, and Mental Ability. 

Each question will carry 4 marks, therefore, the total marks of the question paper are 200. Negative marks will also be given for a wrong answer. -1 will be deducted for each wrong answer from the total score.

JEE Main Exam Pattern 2025: Type of Questions

There will be two sections for each subject. Section A will consist of multiple-choice questions where the students choose the correct option out of the four given options. Section B will contain 10 questions on Numerical value where the students fill out the nearest numerical value after solving the question paper.

According to the officials, if the numerical value of a question is 4 then the answers of 4, 4.0, 4.00, 0.4, 0.004, etc. are all considered right.

1. Four marks are awarded for the correct answered question
2. One mark is deducted for each incorrect answer.
3. No mark is awarded for unattended questions or answers marked for review.
4. If more than one option is correct: Award four marks (+4) only to those who selected the correct options.
5. If all options are correct: +4 is awarded to those who marked any of the options.
6. If none of the options are correct or the question is found to be incorrect or dropped out: four marks are awarded to all students regardless of attempted or unattempted.

4. If the question is found to be incorrect due to human or technical error then four marks will be awarded to all the students.

Re-Initiating NEET Preparation

Restarting NEET preparation is a big decision for a NEET aspirant. Prajkta Bhagat is one of the courageous students at IIB who took the challenge to reappear for the NEET exam and shone brightly in the exam.
