Students preparing for the JEE Mains & Advanced examination always seek some tips & tricks that can enhance their performance. Once you clear the JEE Mains examination you move a step closer to your dreams and appear for JEE Advanced which is the sole gateway to the IIT.

The detailed tips for JEE Mains 2025 preparations are as follows:

  1. Prepare a Study Plan to Move on the Right Track

JEE Mains has a vast syllabus which often overwhelms the students where and what to start. Preparing a timetable will help you cover the syllabus on time and give structured preparation for your examination. You can track your progress and make changes in the schedule accordingly.

How to devise a timetable for JEE Main 2025 Preparation

  • Prepare a timetable emphasizing all the subjects.
  • Leave some time for daily revision.
  • Incorporate short breaks between the long study hours.
  • Set daily, weekly and monthly goals.
  • Set a realistic timetable that can be followed easily.
  • Do not overburden yourself as it leads to stress.
  1. Focus on High-Weightage Topics

Go through the previous year’s exam papers to get the topic’s weightage and note them according to their priority in the examination. Prepare for high-weightage topics first and then move to less-weighted topics. Keep some time for the important topics and ensure you master those topics before the final examination.

  1. Use the Right Study Material

Many books are available for JEE Preparation, but choosing the right study material matters. These books will provide you with the correct information and clear all your queries with easy understanding. NCERT books for classes 11th & 12th are best for understanding the basics. You can also use the study material provided by the coaching classes. Additionally, some other relevant books for JEE Preparation include:

  • Organic Chemistry by Morrison & Boyd
  • Physics by HC Verma Vol. 1 & Vol. 2
  • Trigonometry by S. L. Loney
  • Numerical Chemistry by P. Bahadur
  1. Make Notes During Class

Short notes are very important to understand the keywords. When you are studying the topic for the first time, note down the important points in your notebook. This will help you to revise the topic during self-study time. Maintain separate notebooks for each subject and keep them handy. Whenever you do not want to study new topics you can easily revise the old one for better understanding and retention.

  1. Solve the Last 10 Years Question Papers

The ideal approach is to complete as many of last year’s question papers and practice examinations as possible. The JEE Main questions are not limited to a specific chapter or subject. Your fundamentals must be clear enough to answer any question, regardless of difficulty. Solving mock tests and sample papers will assist you in resolving doubts, learning weak areas, and mastering ideas. You will also be able to enhance your question-answering speed and accuracy.

  1. Develop a Core Understanding of the Concept Before Moving to Complex Topics

The main aspect of JEE preparation is to have a crystal-clear understanding of the concepts before heading towards the difficult topics. JEE questions paper requires an in-depth understanding of the fundamentals. Furthermore, some complex topics are also dependent on these basic concepts. Therefore, while preparing for the exam it is not essential to cover up the entire syllabus rather get mastery in the topics you covered to score well.

  1. Daily Revision & Active Practise

Revision is a powerful tool to retain the vast syllabus of the exam. The daily revision will lead to reinforcement of the subject leading to better retention. Revise the topic you studied last night or day to have a better understanding. In addition, it boosts important concepts, resolves doubts and helps grasp them. Keep a separate palace for revision in your timetable.

  1. Think Positive

Sometimes JEE preparation leads to anxiety and stress. Handling this situation before it worsens is essential for your success. Develop a positive attitude towards life and studies. Do not let negative things come to your mind. Use mind-relaxing techniques, yoga or meditation in your routine to feel energized and relaxed during your preparation.

Is 75% Rule Eliminated From JEE Main & Advanced 2025?

Despite many controversies raised by academicians, the NTA hasn’t removed the 75% rule from JEE 2025. The details of the rule will be available at the official website of NTA’s JEE: jeemain.nta.ac.in

The primary goal of including this criterion in the JEE Main test is to balance the application count. Right from the start, 75% received a lot of criticism and mixed reactions. Even though this legislation was intended to help students score high on board exams, some people disagree with the rule as there are students who might perform well at MCQs compared to the theory examination.

What’s the Reason Behind the Removal of 75% Rule in JEE?

It all started in the year 2020 when the world came to a halt with the unprecedented situation caused by the pandemic. The academic year was not well for the students as they had to juggle online classes and broad examinations. In addition, NTA has also postponed the JEE exam several times and at last stated that the 75% rule will not be applicable for JEE 2020.

The same case was repeated in the next two consecutive years, 2021 & 2022 when the academic session was operational in online mode. But when things resumed to normal and students started learning in offline mode the NTA again applied the 75% rule for the JEE exam in 2023 & 2024, which was objected to by some of the candidates.

It is assumed that the NTA will not remove the 75% rule as it sets the benchmark for the students to prove that they are capable of getting into prestigious engineering colleges in India. If the rule is demolished the number of applications for the JEE Mains will increase resulting in more competition for a fewer number of seats. Therefore, NTA will not be removing this rule to maintain the integrity and prestige of the most important exam JEE.

NEET 2024 Topper: Prajakta Bhagat Inspiring Success Journey

Securing success in a national competitive exam is a lifetime achievement for a student. Our star performer from the NEET 2024 repeater batch scored 700 out of 720 and has proved that success can be achieved through hard work and dedication.

Delve into the inspiring journey of Prajakta Bhagat and learn how a strong decision can help you achieve your dream.

Re-Initiating NEET Preparation

Restarting NEET preparation is a big decision for a NEET aspirant. Prajkta Bhagat is one of the courageous students at IIB who took the challenge to reappear for the NEET exam and shone brightly in the exam. She initiated her NEET preparation right after NEET 2023 result where she scored 161 out of 720. Her siblings were also ex-students of IIB and had completed their MBBS from reputed medical colleges after scoring good marks in the NEET exam.

Focus on Weak Subject

Prajakta’s weakest subject was chemistry. She focused on all three parts of the subject (organic, inorganic and physical) and scored full marks 180/180 in NEET 2024 in chemistry. She gives her score credit to team IIB where teachers cleared all her doubts about the topics and helped her to understand the intricacies of the subject. She prepared short notes, practised numericals, read NCERT books several times and attempted each practice session and mock test conducted at IIB to score well in the examination.

Prajakta’s Strategy for NEET Preparation

Right from the first day of NEET preparation, Prajakta used the time management technique. She divided time equally between all subjects and gave herself small goals to achieve daily. Sometimes she found the tasks challenging but with the motivation and support of the IIB faculty, she assures to accomplish her goal before dusk. She incorporated short breaks during her preparation to refresh herself. Most of the time she chatted with her parents who were the supporting pillars during preparation time. Prajakta thanked IIB’s expert faculty for the comprehensive study material which made her preparation easy.

For Biology she used notes provided by the institute that helped her to succeed in the exam. Prajakta uses a flexible timetable so that she is not forced to do the same thing again and again.

What Message She Wants to Deliver NEET Aspirants

Regular practice, time management, and dedication can lead you to success. If you want to succeed in the NEET exam, study all subjects thoroughly with equal focus on the numerical and theory parts of physics and chemistry. Focus on what you learn in class can lead to 50-60% preparation of the chapter. Make short notes to revise later on. Practice sample papers and previous year exam papers.  Do not stick to a rigid timetable, leave gaps and change the topics.

Prajakta sets an example of coming back after a failure. Her story of NEET success tells us that strong determination, the right guidance, and proper preparation strategy can open the way to achieve your dream. She also finds the support of family and friends important in preparation as they are strong support pillars and give you a booster dose whenever required.
