Strategies for JEE Session 2 Preparation

Here are some expert-proven strategies that can help you prepare well for the exam:

  1.  Strengthening Weak Areas

Identify your weak areas in the Session 1 exam by examining the exam paper and its solution. Work on these weak sections and convert them into strengths for scoring more. Set a goal before practising and try to achieve it by the end of the day. Do not hesitate to seek expert guidance as it is worthwhile.

By the analysis of the session 1 paper and previous paper it is found that most of the exam questions are framed along the application of the concepts in the form of numericals in Physics and Mathematics therefore practising the numerical problems with their derivation is of utmost importance for these two subjects. Whereas in chemistry you should focus on the  NCERT books for classes 11 and 12 to get an in-depth understanding of the fundamentals.

  1.  Refining Time Management

After covering the entire syllabus the next crucial thing you should look forward to is to have an effective time management strategy. Speed and accuracy are key to success in the JEE Main exam paper. Solving the previous year’s question papers and test series in the simulated exam environment can help you score well with reduced exam anxiety.

  1. Enhancing Exam Strategy

Use expert-proven strategy to solve the questions, multiple choice problems and numericals. Revise the syllabus several times to memorise the formulas, equations, derivations, and theorems. Make use of the short notes or flow diagrams for easy and effective revision. Take short breaks in between the long study time for refreshment and relaxation. Note down even a small doubt and make it clear with the help of an expert.

  1. Mental and Physical Preparation

JEE Main preparation is stressful therefore you should focus on the overall improvement of the mental and physical state of mind. Practising mind relaxation exercises regularly along with meditation can relax your mind and give you inner peace and strength to focus on the goal. Take a break whenever you feel overburdened.

Check the New Tie-Breaking Criteria for the NEET 2024 Exam

Tie-Breaking Criteria for NEET 2024:The NTA has revised the tie-breaking criteria for the NEET 2024 examination. With the release of the NEET 2024 application form and the information bulletin by NTA, the new policy was revealed. The application process for the NEET started on Feb 9, 2024, and the last date for the application is Mar 16, 2024. Furthermore, the correction window will open from March 18- 20 to give a chance to rectify errors made in the application form.

The new policy is based on the four factors which form the base of the tie. The policy will evaluate the performance of the candidate and the qualifications to break the tie.  In this article, we will learn about the new tie-breaking policy by NTA.

Tie-breaking Criteria for NEET 2024

After releasing the application form and information bulletin NTA has also proposed the NEET 2024 tie-breaking criteria. The NEET 2024 exam will take place on May 5, 2024, as per the NTA notifications. In NEET 2023, the tie-breaking is done on the grounds of marks attained in biology, followed by chemistry and physics. Furthermore, negative marks and age are used to award the rank if the tie remains. However, NMC has now revised the tie-braking rules for the NEET 2024 examination.

Revised Tie-breaking Rule

Earlier this year, NMC decided to adopt a new policy for tie-breaking stating: “the inter-se-merit of the candidate for tie-breaking when both have attained same marks is as follows:

  1. The candidate obtained the highest marks in biology, followed by,
  2. The candidate obtained the highest marks in chemistry, followed by,
  3. The Candidate obtained the highest marks in physics, followed by,
  4. The lottery system is by computer without any human intervention.”

But when the application form and information bulletin were out, NTA reverted its decision to change the tie-breaking policy and again moved to the old policy.

Now, the tie-breaking criteria of the NEET 2024 states that: “if two or more candidates score equal percentile or marks in NEET 2024 exam the following criteria will be used to determine the rank:

  1. The candidate obtained more marks in biology, followed by,
  2. The candidate obtained more marks in chemistry, followed by,
  3. The candidate obtained more marks in physics, followed by,
  4. The proportion of the number of correct answers and incorrect answers in biology,
  5. The proportion of the number of correct and incorrect answers in chemistry,
  6. The proportion of the number of correct and incorrect answers in physics.”

Until NEET 2020 age criteria were also considered under tie-breaking rules, but it was eliminated in the information bulletin of NEET 2021. The older candidate will get the higher rankings.

Conclusion

According to the most recent statistics provided by officials, over 25 lakh students have submitted applications for the NEET exam. Therefore, competition will be solid as the number of seats available is around 1.10 lakh. The candidates should focus on their preparation and get ready for a cut-throat competition.

Do Not Start Any New Thing

Revision and memorization are key to success in the JEE exam, therefore, revise the entire syllabus using the notes, flashcards, and flow charts you made while studying. Go through the topics that are generally regarded as easy as most of the students neglect them and face difficulty while answering. Use NCERT for Chemistry, as questions in chemistry are based on the fundamentals. In addition, practise numerical for Physics and Mathematics to learn the practical application of the formulas.

One Topic at a Time
