The Supreme Court of India has allowed NTA to re-conduct the NEET 2024 exam to address the controversy of grace marks provided to the 1,563 students in place of the time mismanagement at the 6 examination centres on May 5, 2024, during the NEET examination.
As per the latest information shared by the officials, the re-exam will be conducted on 23 June 2024 and there will be no change in the counselling process and dates. Furthermore, it is not mandatory for all the 1563 students to take the NEET reexamination. For the students who will not appear for the exam, their score cord marks will be reproduced after deducting the grace marks.
Will NEET Re-exam Affect NEET Counselling Process?
The next thing students want to know is the NEET counselling schedule. As per NTA the counselling for NEET 2024 will start from July 6, 2024, as the result of the re-exam will be declared on June 30, 2024. Therefore, the ranking of the candidates will be re-evaluated and 67 candidates who share the highest rank due to grace marks will be awarded rank as per their original marks score without the grace marks.

What were the Compensatory Marks in the NEET Exam Result?
Candidates’ concerns made through Writ Petitions and representations to NTA demand serious consideration for resolution. A Grievance Redressal Committee made up of professionals in examination and academia, was formed to investigate and make suggestions on such complaints.
