Who Is Eligible For Admissions To AIIMS

  • All applicant should have passed their 12th std board exams with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English as their main subject.
  • They should have an aggregate score of over 60% across the subjects in the 12th (50% for SC, ST)
  • They should be over the age limit of 17 years as of the date of answering the examinations.
  • Nationality is not restricted and Indians, NRI’s, OCI’s, PIOs, and foreign nationals are also allowed to apply.

There are very limited seats for foreign nationals as well as NRI’s, OCI’s and PIOs.

AIIMS Exams Pattern

The AIIMS exam is a multiple choice question format and reason-assertion type question. Correct responses get you 1 mark each while for every wrong answer you score reduces by 1/3rd mark. There are 5 sections each.

  • Physics
  • Chemistry
  • Botany and Zoology
  • General Knowledge
  • Aptitude and Logical Thinking

The science streams comprise of 60 marks each while the general knowledge and aptitude questions comprise of 10 marks each for a total of 200 marks for the entire examination.

As with all other qualification examinations, there are seats reserved for special categories.
