NEET Counselling in Maharashtra: Open State Benefits and Requirements

Maharashtra NEET Counselling 2024 will be administered by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Maharashtra. The Maharashtra NEET counselling will take place for admission to MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, BUMS, and other associated medical and paramedical courses. DTE Maharashtra oversees the medical counselling process for the 85 percent State Quota seats.

What is Open State Counselling?

Open State NEET Counselling is the process by which applicants who have passed the National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET) in India can apply for admission to undergraduate medical (MBBS) and dental (BDS) courses at government and private colleges within a specific state. 

85% per cent of seats are reserved in the participating state government and private colleges where students can seek admission and get the college of their choice within their state. The Maharashtra State NEET counselling will start in August and will prioritise the students who reside in the state and have state domicile. The remaining 15% of seats will go under the All India Quota in the MCC national council for the NEET.

1. NEET Qualification

The candidate must have passed the NEET examination with the minimum qualifying marks prescribed by the NTA (National Test Agency). 

2. Domicile Criteria

The candidate must have a state domicile to take part in the particular state counselling process. 

3. Registration Process

Candidates must register on the official website of the Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell (CET Cell). This includes creating a profile, submitting personal and academic information, and paying the registration fees.

4. Choice Filling and Locking

After registration candidates are required to fill in the choice in the application form and lock them as per their preference to proceed further with the registration process.

5. Merit List and Seat Allotment

The merit list will be prepared as per the candidate’s rank and marks and the allotment of the seats will be done for the further counselling process.

How to Register for Maharashtra State NEET Counselling 2024

The steps to register for the Maharashtra State NEET Counsellling 2024 are as follows:

1. Visit the official site of Maharashtra NEET 2024 Counseling. 
2. Click the New Registration tab and read the instructions carefully as all the information entered cannot be edited after submission.
3. Enter the NEET roll number, application number, date of birth, mobile number, and email address.
4. Enter the OTP received via mobile number and email.
5. Click on “Create Account” and then click the Sign-In tab.
6. Login using the Mobile Number or Email ID and password.
7. Enter the required personal and academic details, and choose the course and colleges.
8. Upload documents with file sizes not more than 300 KB file size.
9. Pay the application fees, and save and print the confirmation document for future reference.
