JEE Mains 2024: Revised & Updated Syllabus

The National Test Agency (NTA) has released the latest JEE Mains 2024 Syllabus. It has been revised as some of the chapters have been removed from the syllabus. It follows the NCERT curriculum, and the NTA has encouraged all other educational boards to match their syllabus with NCERT. Furthermore, the registration process for the JEE Mains Session 1 has been started and the last date of the application form is 30 November 2023.

JEE Mains 2024 Revised Syllabus

The NTA announced the updated JEE Mains 2024 Syllabus on 2nd November along with the registration process details. Most of the chapters have been removed from Chemistry, with only a few being excluded from Physics and Mathematics. Students are welcoming the reduced syllabus as they will now get more time to prepare for the JEE Mains 2024 examination.

JEE Mains 2024 Syllabus Download PDF

The reduced syllabus will relieve the aspiring candidates as they will get more time for the JEE preparation.  The students are advised to visit the official website of JEE to download the latest and revised JEE Syllabus.  Even though the syllabus has been revised, students can practise the previous years’ paper to get an insight into the exam pattern and difficulty level of the JEE. 

The exam date for JEE Mains 2024 Session 1 will be between 24 January- 1 February. JEE Mains Session 2 will be held between 1 April- 15 April. Students must concentrate on their JEE preparations since time is passing quickly, and they need to be ready for one of India’s most competitive exams to pursue their dreams.

JEE Main 2024 Exam Pattern

The exam pattern for the JEE will remain the same as last year. The students are required to be prepared for the objective type question along with the numerical. However, It has been decided to provide choices in one section of each subject of Paper 1 and Part I of Paper 2A and 2B to cater to the decisions of different boards across the country (as per the revised syllabus). However, the total number of questions to be attempted will remain the same 25 each from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (wherever applicable).

Marking Scheme for JEE Mains 2024

The marking scheme for the JEE Mains 2024 will remain the same as last year. For every correct answer, you will get 4 marks whereas for every wrong answer, 1 mark will be deducted. However, no marks are there for the unanswered questions. So this year also you have to face the negative marking scheme in the JEE examination.
