JEE Main Exam Pattern 2025: Type of Questions

There will be two sections for each subject. Section A will consist of multiple-choice questions where the students choose the correct option out of the four given options. Section B will contain 10 questions on Numerical value where the students fill out the nearest numerical value after solving the question paper.

  1. Four marks are awarded for the correct answered question
  2. One mark is deducted for each incorrect answer.
  3. No mark is awarded for unattended questions or answers marked for review.
  4. If more than one option is correct: Award four marks (+4) only to those who selected the correct options.
  5. If all options are correct: +4 is awarded to those who marked any of the options.
  6. If none of the options are correct or the question is found to be incorrect or dropped out: four marks are awarded to all students regardless of attempted or unattempted.
