NEET 2025 Exam Pattern

The NEET exam has taken over all the other medical exams such as AIPMT, AIIMS, JIPMER, etc. According to the Supreme Court guidelines NEET administered by NTA is the only path for admission to all the govt. & private medical colleges in India and there will be no other entrance exam apart from NEET.

Detailed Exam Pattern of NEET 2025

According to the latest NEET pattern defined by NTA, the exam is broadly divided into four sections: Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, & Botany. Each section has two sub-sections A & B. All questions of section A are to be answered whereas students get a choice of answering 10 questions out of 15. The detailed section-wise exam pattern for NEET 2025 is given in the table below:

NEET 2025 Distribution of Marks

As per the NEET marking pattern, each question will carry 4 marks, one mark will be deducted for the incorrect answer. The total marks is 720. The detailed marking scheme of NEET 2025 is given below:

  1. For each correct answer, four marks will be awarded.
  2. For each incorrect answer, one mark will be deducted.
  3. No marks for unanswered questions.
  4. No marks will be awarded for extra answered questions in section B.
  5. Questions for which more than one answer is marked will be awarded as incorrect answers and one mark will be deducted for that question.

NEET Exam Pattern 2025: Instruction to Fill the OMR Sheet

Here are some common instructions which a candidate should abide by while answering in the OMR Sheet:

  • Answers must be marked using the ballpoint pen given in the examination hall.
  • Changing the answers on the OMR sheet is not allowed.
  • Erasing or obliterating any information printed on an OMR sheet is punishable.
  • Rough work should be done on the test booklet only.
  • A candidate must remember to mark the exam booklet code on the OMR sheet.
  • Candidates must ensure that the NEET question paper code corresponds to that of the OMR sheet.

  1. Candidates must fill in the exam language while filling up the NEET 2025 application form.
  2. Language once selected will not be changed in the application form.
  3. Those not choosing the language will get the exam in only one language i.e. English.
